Who is our Deanery Patron Carlo Acutis? Carlo Acutis Born in London in 1991 and raised in Milan, to parents who were not particularly religious.  From an early age, Carlo displayed a keen interest in Catholic religious practice requesting First Communion at 7, frequently attending mass each week and making a weekly confession. He lived a fairly routine life, but maintaining a keen interest to use media to evangelize and proclaim the Gospel, setting up a website for this purpose. When he developed leukaemia he offered his suffering to the Pope for the Catholic Church. His purity of life, his connection and relevance to our current young and his faith all shine out in an age of despair, lack of direction and hope.

Deanery Autumn Events

'Your Church needs YOU!…' The last 2 meetings held our Deanery Synodal Council produced many fine suggestions for parish cooperation. Having listened carefully to these suggestions we have picked out 6 areas for moving forward. YOU are warmly invited to join us at either of the following 2 meetings: Wed 13 Nov at 7.30pm at Holy Family Hall  or Mon 18 Nov at 7.30pm at Sacred Heart Hall. There is a printed sheet at the back of church with more information and a brief outline as to the purpose and function of the meetings. Please come along to offer your insights, experiences and gifts. Also use this link online if you have internet access https://bit.ly/4eN16JP

Consultation on Families of Parishes - Spring/summer 2024

It is a priority of the Archbishop to explore the resources of each of the deaneries, leading him to be able to establish Families of Parishes.  He has now determined that for our deanery – the Sefton Coast North Deanery – there will be two Families of Parishes, serving the deanery in the North and the South.

Families of Parishes - Consultation - Spring/summer 2024

What each of us says, thinks or feels really matters. It is in being attentive to this that we hope we will hear the path forward that God wants us to take; a synodal approach.

The following is the vision that emerged from the Synod of the Archdiocese of Liverpool in 2021:

Your Deanery Synodal Council

As part of the Pastoral Plan Archbishop Malcolm determined that for him to carry out his role he needed to discern what the Spirit was saying to the Church by listening to the people of God, our faithful community.
